It serves neither God, nor truth, to try and rationalize irrational things the Bible has said of God. What is believed of God is of greater importance than is the belief in God. For if men believe wicked things of God, they will justify their evil in the name of God:
1 Samuel 15:2-3 Thus says the Lord of hosts, '... (3) ... KILL BOTH MAN AND WOMAN, CHILD AND INFANT ,..!'
In bearing a yoke of an unquestioning faith, many do not recognize that the vile spirit behind 1 Samuel 15:2-3 and 9 /11 are one and the same. Trusting blind guides, captives of the House of Bondage are made ignorant of the truth of God; for God is neither a butcher of men, nor the butcher of animals. Only those who were caused to crucify their mind could fail to recognize that dung is dung regardless of where it is found; for the perverse Hitlerian-like command of 1 Samuel 15:3 reflects not the mind of God, but reflects the attributes of a depraved mind.
Truth has no reason to fear the light of examination, whereas the lie does! Not until it is recognized that it is not God, but priests who burden men with demands of an unquestioning faith, will they cease from being caused to persecute one another in the names of the false gods of their ritual religions. For religions that demand an unquestioning faith serve neither God nor truth, but serve only the interests of self-called priests.
The writings on this site are dedicated to the deliverance of those who were lead into bondage to an unrighteous fear of God through an unquestioning faith in perverse Biblical doctrines that encourages one's self-hatred and passive ignorance. And to the atheist, whose mind is made hostile towards a belief in God because of what the primitives have falsely said of God. And to the agnostics, who refuse to please men by crucifying their mind so that they too might believe in superstitious mumbo-jumbo that is claimed by the self-called to be inspired of God.
I am not sure what you find absurd or what it is that you consider a contradiction in the bible. It seems to me either you misinterpret what is written or you are easily persuated. God's Word is indeed truth but, God's word is His inspiration, in the writtings you read is documentation. The prophets in the old testament spoke the word of God (rhema) and what was spoken was documented and what was documented came to pass. So, God's Word is truth. The evidence of this is also documented in creation (in Genesis) and in miracles but, you must beleive in this to begin with. You see, the evidence of God is not just documented but all around you.
As for the writtings of Joseph Wheless. I'd be glad to study them as soon as you prove to me that he is greater than my Lord Jesus Christ, who died for me to have life and resurrected on the third day to prepare a place for me.
hmm, God...
God?
What is God to you?
To me ( I'll answer first since I asked). I also think it is only fair that I'd answer your question first.
Would God command the Sun to shine on the just and the unjust?
Sure.(Gen. 1:2)
Would God stretch out His hand and cause great men who believe in Him to suffer?
Sure.(Job. 1:11-12) ...and all the prophets and Apostles.
Would he condemn one man and save an other?
Sure, thus he rebuked Satan in Peter and told Judas what you must, go do quickly when Satan entered Him.
And so on and so forth...
Why is this so easy for me to asborb (and many other things) not absurd to me, simple, because He is the Lord God. People do not understand Lordship today anymore than righteousness (or care to because they can't see past the fruit of knowledge of good and evil and want to judge).
Who among us can say; I am right, follow me! Again, show me the works of this man and I am there BUT when a man comes and says that I am wrong and He is (and thats that) and gives His life for me and prepares a place for me to dwell eternally and says to me that I am His and He is mine then, I am there but you... in heaven today and the end but,
you say no man should die and no man should be killed and I say, if it were so then, why did Jesus die (or in your eyes is probably more like was killed)? So, Jeus Christ came saying love each other, you are not worthy to judge that time is yet to come.
There is a level of righteousness through Jesus Christ that man has yet to comprehend and never will, until the day of resurrection thus His sacrifice for them.
And, no other prophet before him was EVER right, in His name thus not worthy of being the lamb of God. So, if you are saying that I should be listening for His voice to go kill or that if I hear such a voice that I should obey then, I say to you that you are in error because you do not comprehend what is written or the power of God and again, I say to you that if the writtings of any man show him to be above my Lord Jesus Christ BY HIS WORKS then, I will gladly follow him.
And that my friend is what I believe :D
I'd rather believe in the foolishness of the cross and enter heaven than fight the judgment of the creator.
Regarding what is written in Samuel, because I have yet to answer that question.
Have you read what is written in Samuel 15:22 and 23?
As for bible doctrine or priests...
Again, if it were possible to enter His kingdom on this, why did Jesus Christ die?
Didn't all this exist before the sacrifice?
Again, even the lamb of God did not argue with what is required of Him (suffering at the hands of man and death at the cross) and in this obedience today lives forever.
