Rachamim,

I’m delighted to receive your question. The three angels’ messages (Rev 14:6-12), rightly understood, are a tremendous revelation of the true gospel in an end-time setting. I hope you have questions about these messages; I have much to say about them. They boil down to justification by grace through faith. Paul’s gospel is also a message of justification by grace through faith.

The gospel of Jesus Christ underscores the good news of the kingdom of God. I don’t believe that I’ve ever heard anyone reduce the wonderful gospel of Jesus into a short description so I hope you’ll forgive me if I consider Christ’s gospel as hopelessly too immense and awesome to encapsulate. The gospel overwhelms me. Do you have any comprehension of the staggering depth of meaning in just the 7 verses of Revelation 14:6-12?

Mr Shubert,

I guess I should address you that way. I personally know of your commitment to the Gospel of Justification by Faith through Grace.

I totally agree that the subject is immense and awe-inspiring. But, I do take SOME exception when you say it is "hopelessly too immense and awesome to encapsulate." If this were true, we could NOT complete our task of preaching this Good News to young children, mildly mentally challenged persons, which we are commanded to do (to every creature, is the way MY bibles read). Confused In fact, EVERY CREATURE includes the deaf, the "insane" and other avoidable persons. Remember, it is the hearing, not the understanding that triggers belief (RO. 10)

The Good News can be as simple and bare bones as needed, or as deep as the need and ability of the recipient of the Good News. Who am I to decide who can hear the Gospel, clearly.

You know, of course, that if I have misconstrued your meaning, that I sincerely and profusely apologize and ask your forgiveness. Embarassed

Good to be talking with you again. Sorry to hear about TI.

Your Friend Laughing ,
Steve, for whom Yahshua died, rose, and is soon coming again,
Shalom

Dear Steve,

Yes, I believe you have misconstrued my meaning, so let me say a bit more and you can tell me if there’s a real difference in our understanding or not. I believe that we’re looking at the word encapsulate differently.

Jesus said, “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life” (John 6:63). I believe that there’s enough gospel in this verse—or in many other brief sayings of Jesus—to bring salvation to those who hear. But if brief sentences can bring life, how explosive would the words be if we could compress in a brief summary all the glorious good news contained in the gospel of the kingdom of God as Jesus taught it? If you think you can do this I would love it hear it.

I am very thankful that you have joined this forum and sincerely hope that you will have the time to be a regular contributor. I really don’t mean to assign kingly titles around here. I know that you have wisdom to share. Please call me Gene or Eugene.

Gene,

You wrote, in part:

I agree that no one can include all the meaning - the unsearchable riches of G_d in a short sentence or two, or even a book - of the gospel. We are agreed.

Still, I think to point out that vocabulary can sometimes get in the way of meaning. Or, as the experts told Clinton (paraphrase), "Keep it simple, stupid"

Enough for now, hope you are enjoying the Sabbath. Love from Jill, as well.

Dear Steve,

I’m under the impression that neither one of us has expressed a difference of opinion worth fighting for or discussing. With your permission, I’d like to move this thread to the Subtle Misunderstanding forum.
