Greetings all,

I used to post a little on the VOAF forum, yet I have not been over there in some months, and when I did visit just now the forum has been closed with a page suggesting some alternate links which led me to here.

I am a Seventh Day Baptist, yet there is not a Seventh Day Baptist Church here, so I usually go to a Methodist Church. I have been along to the local SDA church, yet it is a very elderly congregation and I find it hard to fit in. My Grandmother was in the SDA and I grew up knowing alot about them. Yet I was brought up in a Salvation Army church and on one occasion was lectured severly for washing my car on a Sunday which they believed to be the Sabbath. I replied that Saturday was in fact the Sabbath and I had been shown this in Scripture by some SDA people and believed that to be right.

I left the Salvo's to join a Pentecostal Congregation which I went to for several years yet left when I got badly burnt by the Prosperity Gospel. It was from there that I met the Seventh Day Baptist Church online who helped me get back on track with God. We had a small SDB church here but like alot of churches here it closed due to a lack of numbers.

Anyway I am looking forward to getting to know you in here, I have been thinking in recent weeks of trying another SDA church where there are a few young people, yet I am looking for God's direction in this, and I am not getting much at the moment in that direction.

Anyway a pleasure to meet you all! Cool

Welcome Ben,

I sometimes think of this bulletin board as an online Seventh-day Adventist church so I hope you will be treated well around here. I'm surprised that the Salvation Army church believes in the sacredness of Sunday. I recall reading their official statements of beliefs a few years ago and don't believe they have that in there. Seventh-day Adventists also have several unofficial, undocumented beliefs that you're expected to practice. Is Sunday sacredness something like that for the Salvation Army church?

Afraid so, yet like a number of other groups they are moving to a postion of well Sunday is not the Sabbath and we really dont have to keep the Sabbath because it is not ongoing.

I have seen that attitude alot lately. I must admit that I found it surprising with the recent incedent with the Ten Commandments being displayed in a Court House in the U.S, that some Christans have actually taken to attacking the Ten Commandments and saying that they are the law and not for today.

Yet when you are genuinley born again, which of the Ten Commandments would you want to break. Exclamation
