Eugene, I could only smile when I saw that picture of Pres Bush morph into Hitler. My understanding of modern day politics is that whether the political right or left is in power, we're headed for disaster. On the extreme conservative side we have the so-called religious right who will be the ones pressuring our law makers for a national Sunday law. In the meantime, the far left is opening the flood doors for all manner of evil to come in under the banners of tolerance and diversity.
I personally think that Hillary Clinton will be our next president. Hey, a woman started this mess, and a woman just may end it (by signing the death decree into law). But seriously, we can see what spirit is in control of both parties in Washington. The angels, however, are still holding back the winds of strife; but I don't see how that can last much longer.
As I see the total mess in today's political arena, I am also witnessing chaos in most, if not all, religious groups. Mormons have always been a regimented religious group with high standards, but living in Utah I have learned that large numbers of them smoke, drink, and indulge in incest and spousal abuse in percentages far higher than the national average. The Muslim world can't live in peace with their neighbors. The enemy of souls is literally running around like "a roaring lion...seeking whom he may devour." 1 Peter 5:8. In the parable of the ten virgins, a time came when all ten fell asleep. I just pray that when the call goes out that "the bridegroom cometh," I will have enough oil in my lamp.
The events of 911 and the subsequent war on terror, the tsunami in Indochina, Hurricane Katrina, earthquakes in divers places, and volcanic eruptions--all happening over such a short period of time--I believe should be a wakeup call to us all that time is short. But many sleep on.
I think the next major occurance that will awaken us from our slumber will be the national Sunday law. Many Sabbath-keepers will panic at that point and head for the hills. But some will go back into the cities because they know that the Loud Cry must go forth.
I bookmarked that site www.theocracywatch.org so I can keep an eye on what the religious right is up to, such as Justice Sundays.
The only good thing that I can see in all of the chaos within the religious world is that every day brings us one day closer to return of Jesus. I never thought He would delay His return this long.

There is no question in my mind that you are absolutely wrong about that. According to Scripture, before the mark of the beast becomes law, the false prophet power must first deceive the whole world by performing undeniable miracles like calling down a miraculous fire from heaven to earth in everyone's view (Revelation 13:13-14).
For a spectacular preview of the very near future, consider what the false prophet is already saying about the satanic fire that he has prophesied will be under his control.
