Dedicated to the twelve spiritual tribes of the House of Israel.

I have mentioned Exodus 23: 20-22 pertaining to the Voice of the Angel in other articles. I would like to expand more on how to hear from God. I will begin by stating that this is no easy process. This is no walk for the faithless or disobedient. Such an experience will surely try and test every faculty of your heart, soul and mind. I can only speak from experience. I can only refer to the Word, when Moses the leader and servant of God was told to speak to the rock, and Moses struck the rock; that cost Moses anger of the Lord. (See: Numbers 20: 8-12). Does God ever change in mind, heart and soul? No! To hear from God, one must be ready to submit all unto God. You must have come to acknowledge existence of the Voice and Word of God.

In a world that has no Truth, hearing from God is increasingly becoming difficult. The enemy is on the attack to destroy all Word, time and Truth. Therefore, unless you set aside quality time with God there will be no hearing of His Voice. There are four important steps to hearing from God. They are: Silence, Meditation, Prayer and Faith.

I will attempt to briefly explain each step out of experience and Word.

SILENCE: (See Psalms 32: 3).

The above scripture are the words of David. Silence is a challenging experience especially when you have been waiting for a day or days. Sometimes you can be waiting for years. I have personally been waiting now for almost two years for a specific trial to be over. I have received the spoken Word and Voice of the Lord, I have even already won the battle on paper, but still I am waiting for the manifestation of my huge reward. Silence, describes my life in the now. Oftentimes when I read the Word of God, I see a mirrored reflection as if I am silently walking all the characters of the Bible.

In Job 16:15, sackcloth is used by Job to wrap his body into the dust in mourning. Sackcloth is made from goat or camel hair, used as a sign of mourning. Perhaps this is what the 21st century world denominational churches are in need of. Can you imagine lying down wrapped in sackcloth all day?

In times like these WE definitely need a Saviour. In times like these WE also need a friend. With escalating wars and rumours of war many will need the equivalent of sackcloth. I have often times wrapped myself from head to toe in defiance of sleeping until I hear from God. Such a stand has taken me into days. Yet, I praise God that I can have the trials that cause me to seek His face and Voice. Silence is when heaven is working. Silence is when you are heightening in agony and your last breath has been blown. Silence is when the enemy thinks that they already have the victory. Silence is what helped to take down the walls of Jericho. (See: Joshua 6: 10). Silence is what many forget you must be of flesh unto God. (See: Zechariah 2: 13). Therefore, Only spirit filled people can address the Most High.

MEDITATION:

It is your silence that will usher you into meditation of Spirit and Word. This is an important spiritual life ingredient. Meditation to me is silence of the flesh and world of mind. Meditation is what gives me the focus of Spirit and Word. Without meditation how can you be serious about worship? Without meditation how can you hear from God? Without meditation there will be a lot of what I call world traffic rampaging through your mind, trying to knock you off spiritual balance. What I say to people is do NOT try to stop the traffic. Lie on your face and let the traffic flow freely through your mind without thought or panic. It is after this, that you will find that the Voice of the Lord will automatically speak after all traffic of world and panic has passed away. This is what I call absolute meditation. This is eliminating you (of thoughts) from the equation of body, heart and soul. This is when you will find the uninterrupted Voice of the Lord flowing in abundance. You will hear SO MUCH. You will be tempted to respond, interrupt or speak. I would say be silent as long as possible, unless you are instructed to speak. This is no hoax. Do NOT expect to hear the Voice of God first or even the second time you seek His face. God is not the author of confusion. God wants to know that you are serious and diligent in spiritual business.

PRAYER:

This is the preparation key to powerful study and meditation. You must pray often and read often in the sight of the Lord. Remember that the Lord sees all things. (See: Jeremiah 16: 17). God is God of all! If you cannot pray to God often you are not serious of the power of God. The Voice of God is sure power that will break you, should you ever disobey. When God speaks to all, this is immediate judgment! When you here from God this is like Moses or Ezekiel hearing from the Lord. Prayer is what God uses to identify the souls and voice of His sheep. No worshipping saint of God will let a day pass by without time in prayer. I am not talking about five or ten minutes. I am talking about face down 30 minutes minimum in prayer. This is serious times and devotion to God in prayer. I said to someone only this morning, if Christ could do forty days and nights what should you do? I am only saying at least 30 minutes minimum.

FAITH:

Without a healthy prayer life you will not have much faith. Faith is what wrote Hebrews Chapter 11. Faith is what wipes the smiles off enemy faces. Faith is what destroys mountains and eases the pain. Faith is what makes God smile! Faith is what will move you onto what I call the next level. As you walk the Christian road of spiritual warfare you will see all enemies as huge rewards. The wealth of the wicked is laid up for the righteous. Therefore, unless Christians go to war in the Spirit forget claiming your inheritance.

CONCLUSION:

Take the time to be holy. This is taking the time to be set apart. Take the time to lay aside world and friends and even family of the world. The Lord will expect nothing less than perfection of heart, mind and soul. Expect to fight the good fight of faith! This is exactly what it is, an all out fight to death or life eternally.

God Bless.
