Why not dedicate a forum to bring lost souls to the Lord Jesus Christ instead of seeking the destruction of the world?

God’s word says “look forward to the day of God and speed its coming” (2 Peter 3:12). Evidently, by giving the gospel to the world it is in our power to hasten our Lord’s return.

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).

--{2 Peter 3:12}--
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God,
wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved,
and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth,
wherein dwelleth righteousness.

14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things,
be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
The King James Version, (Cambridge: Cambridge) 1769.

The wording --"Hasting unto" is for us to hurry:
{Get Ready; Get Ready; Get Ready; for him when he does;
For he will come in an hour when most of the world least expects it}
We are not going to make God --"Get it in gear"--

We are too wait for him;
Not him wait for us:

As it was at his first coming:
Many of the Prophet earnestly desired to see his day;
And these were the --"Holy Men of Old"--

He did not rush his 1st coming to please them:

He won't for us either:
We are told to wait patiently; his promise is not
--"Slackeness as Some Men count slackness"

He will come as he came in the begining:

--"In the Fullness of time"--

His time -<not>- Not Ours

I would agree with Eugene's comments. 2 Peter 3:15 and Matthew 24:14 imply that God is waiting for his people to do their part before he can do his part. In saying so, I recall hearing someone quote a verse that talked about Even the rocks crying out, should God's people fail to. I am sorry I don't know where that is found.
The point being that, we seek not the violent and ending of life on earth, but rather the completion of the christian commission, to go and tell others the good news. Until all of those living on the earth have had a chance to choose which master to follow, how could God come back and claim to fair, merciful, and just?

Michael

When Peter spoke of looking forward to Christ's coming and the end of the world. He didn't mean, "oh boy I can't wait til God torches this planet", but rather that a new AGE or era of righteousness would finally be ushered in. This planet will abide forever. But it will undergo surface changes. It will be eventually purified by fire. That is God's way of cleansing. But this will not take place til AFTER the thousand years, right before the New Jerusalem or Holy city comes down to the new earth. Rev21.
