:D Most SDA's, and most "Christians" really don't know what the Eternal gospel is. If someone is enterested, let me know and I will be very happy to share it with you.

Love in Christ,

JCPM

Hi JCPM,

Please forgive me for thinking that your introduction to so elevating a topic is somewhat lacking in sensitivity and tact. I believe the gospel of Revelation 14:6-12 speaks favorably of humility and grace. I’m certain you agree. Welcome to the forum.

There are many times in scripture where the word gospel is used. And all these instances do NOT have the same meaning in mind. When Jesus was on earth proclaiming th "gospel of the kingdom", he was not preaching the same message we hear in Protestant pulpits today. Where Jesus is said to have died for your sins, was buried and rose from the dead. No, this was a message about the kingdom of God and how it related to man. Many parables of the kingdom are explained by Jesus in the gospels.

When Jesus arose from the dead, after his crucifixion, he instructed his disciples to preach ANOTHER gospel. A gospel of salvation. To believe, repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. This gospel involves the salvation of all men.

When we turn to Revelation 14:6 we have a different message of news or gospel. It is a gospel of both declaration and warning. It is a gospel of judgment that is to come upon the earth and also for the earth to realize that God is their Creator. This is a gospel that conveys a WARNING. To not heed it is to bring eternal judgment upon one's self. That is why it is called an everlasting gospel.

This then, is the way 'gospel" is used in the New Testament. To fail to distinguish the varied meanings is to end up in confusion.
