Steve,

One of the problems here is the understanding of Godhead. Trinitarians believe that the word Godhead constitutes a plurality of deities. In the case of the trinity, three deities who are one in character, nature, and purpose and who all claim individually to be the "only true God".

This is a false representation of the Godhead. The Godhead is not a plurality of deities. The Godhead is the Father exclusively. Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, by birth, inherited the fullness of His Father, the fullness of the Godhead. The Holy Spirit, is the Spirit OF God, proceeding from God the Father. God is omnipresent by His Spirit. The Spirit of God is in actual fact, God the Father Himself in an invisible form and most assuredly the Holy Spirit would be the fullness of the Godhead, being that the Holy Spirit is God Himself divested of bodily form. So, Ellen White was correct in stating that the Holy Spirit is the "third person OF the Godhead" Now, the Spirit of God is also the Spirit of Christ. God gave His Holy Spirit to His Son. They both share the SAME Spirit and this is what constitutes their one-ness! And when we, as children of the living God, become indwelled with this same Holy Spirit of God, this is how we also achieve that one-ness not only with our bretheren who truly are indwelled with God's Spirit but also attain that one-ness with God and His Son and that's how we all become one, even as God and Christ are one. This is a beautiful truth that is totally obscured by the trinity doctrine.
