You don't believe in THAT Eugene? That IS the whole idea behind the "Left Behind" series which so many of us are enjoying. Why do you think it's un-biblical? As a child, I enjoyed the 1964 Outer Limits episode titled, The Demon With a Glass Hand, starring Robert Culp. To this day I still remember how delighted I was about the mysterious mass disappearance of people off the planet and the startling revelation from Robert Culp’s glass hand that the entire world’s population were electronically transcribed onto a wire. Why do I believe that a secret rapture is unbiblical? Jesus taught that the day of His appearing will be just like the day that Lot left Sodom. Many are bored with Jesus’ dull, historical comparison. To promote a truly exciting message, false teachers take Jesus’ precise historical analogy and fictionalize the incident beyond recognition. They teach (in essence) that the day Lot left Sodom the whole city was thrown into confusion and panic because of reports that Lot had vanished mysteriously. Do you think that anyone in Sodom expressed any sort of anxiety that Lot was missing? Do you believe that anyone there even cared about filing a missing person’s report? Please realize that there wasn’t enough time. Sodom was destroyed on the same day! Luke 17:26-30: “Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. People were eating, drinking, marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. “It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. Since I don't believe in arguing with fellow believers, we'll just leave it. Posted: Sat Jun 21, 2003 9:59 pm    Post subject: Secret Rapture the reason it is false is because the bible says it will be loud-trumpets blowing, shouting etc. Also, scripture says every eye will see him yes i believe the Left behind series is a nice story book-as long as u dont start believing its falseness-which many people have-same with harry potter its a good bokk but too many people have started the series and are becoming absessed with it-and the auther J.K. For all YOU, I, or ANYONE knows, this scenario MAY be right on target. (or it may NOT be too) My suggestion to you is that you not be so dogmatic and try to see another's viewpoint. It lets you know what other religions believe it also helps you support your belief,possibly, or you could discover you are wrong. Not all religions have the whole truth i believe adventists have most of the truth though. We may be missing something though!! So you don't believe in the rapture? Well, it just MIGHT be true or not. Hi Ken, Your “dumb” aside in the university forum about hoping to escape the time of genetically engineered babies with the RAPTURE does not belong in a factual forum (so I’m moving it here). The Bible doesn’t teach anything about an end-time of total, unimaginable, Dispensationalist fiction. There is no all of a sudden crazy time. The Bible teaches that “evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse” (2 Timothy 3:13) until the end.
