Greetings Beloved,
We are thankful for your message. Because even though you are very confused there is hope that you will see the Light. In reference to retracting the statement that the Jehovah Witnesses are a Cult would be irresponsible for the FreedomJournal. FOR THE RECORD THIS WRITER NOR HAS THE FREEDOMJOURNAL EVER MADE A RETRACTION.
We do not however say that we are free from error etc. But retractions are usually based not on minor errors but on the belief that what one has written is incorrect. But what really is revealed is that the objector is in disagreement or disbelief. We suggest that before one seeks retractions are stand in opposition to Facts that they take the time to do some research. Then they will be able to respond in an intelligent manner.
For the record we stand on our statement that the Jehovah Witnesses are a Cult. THE MOST DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTIC OF A CULT IS THAT THE MIND HAS BEEN HI-JACKED, AND TAKEN HOSTAGE. THUS, ONE HAS GIVEN UP HIS/HER FREEDOM TO THINK INDEPENDENTLY.
Therefore if you know anything about Jehovah Witnesses you would understand that to be a Witness you have to give over your mind to the Elders of the Organization and the Man-Called Prophets in New York. The New York Prophets set all policy and beliefs for the Witnesses. Thus, they become little gods. For example Jehovah Witnesses are not allowed to use computers, read newspapers, watch TV etc. The reading material that they are allowed to read is produced by their organization.
But by far the most devastating aspect of this Cult is their belief in a White Jesus and White God. Thus, they depict pictures constantly of a White Jesus and White Prophets. They thusly deny the scriptures regarding images.
Meanwhile, the Jehovah Witnesses are not the only Cult in Christendom. The Catholic Church is also a leading Cult with millions of people bowing to the Pope as a god. Also we see many Cults among the people that follow the ungodly Prosperity Preachers that are depicted on TV daily. These Clowns, Actors, Actresses, Court Jesters are also Cult leaders. The Healers and the vast cadre of TV networks that allegedly broadcast Christian programs are also in this group. So there are many Cults among us today.
But Cults will end up in Hell. There is only way to Peace and Paradise. Man and woman has to follow the Truth of God and not man and money.
Peace and Love,

To quote you: "For example Jehovah Witnesses are not allowed to use computers, read newspapers, watch TV etc. The reading material that they are allowed to read is produced by their organization."
You and/or "FreedomJournal" are incorrect. You should check your material before you publish anything, since a prevalence of errors leads to eventual dismissal by your readers.
You are confusing Jehovahs Witnesses with the Plymouth Bretheren I think, who shun much of the technology of man.
As for the Jehovahs Witnesses, how and why would they have www.watchtower.org if they did not use computers?
Your reference to their "Man Called Prophets" is also incorrect terminology. Check your facts before writing, and think before you open your mouth.

The title of Freedom Journal's thread is correct and true, it is the body of the message that contains generalizations that are not true.
I was one of Jehovah's Witnesses from 1966 to mid 2003, having become 'inactive' in 1989. So you can see that it took 13 more years for my perceptions to return to normal. Normal being able to react and think in terms of reality and not in terms of what the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society dictated.
With 5 meetings a week, strong encourtagement from 'them' to prepare for these meetings, personal study, and then door to door work, one does not have time to 'kick back' by casual use of the computer, or newspapers or TV. There is barely enough free time to enjoy one's family.
The rank and file are browbeat in every endevor of life, their choice of education, marriage mate, employment, vacations - which should be reserverd for 3 or 4 day District Assemblies and a Circut Assembly on maybe 3 weekends a year, who they can associate with and who they cannot. On top of all this the tone of urgency in the comming of Armageddon any minute, and a real persecution complex.
There are thankfully now several internet discussion boards for Witnesses and one can learn of the long lasting painful effects of this religion and the role it has had in breaking up famlies. Yes indeed, it is a cult that allows you to live in your own home, and that is about it; one's mind is carefully twisted and directied so that there is very little Christian love to be found in the congregations and none of the Fruits of the Spirit.
been there, done that.......talley/Judy :( _________________ Matt.23:24

Hi Talley,
It is not just witnesses that are a cult. I was raised a fundamentalist 'christian', and I can tell you, it took me many years to undo the warping that that upbringing caused to my mind. For one, I was scared of God. I mean REALLY scared of God. Every time I 'sinned', I thought he hated me. Every time I failed, I thought he hated me.
Without fear of what others think around here, I think all organized sects of Christianity are pretty much cults(in my experience, though I haven't ruled out there might be exceptions). They blunt their followers with the Bible, fill their heads with errors, calling the bible infallible, and then holding them up to, and judging them by the infallible bible. They teach their congregations that their sect is the one true way, that their church is the one true faithful church, and then focus on all the faillings of other sects to give evidence of that, ignoring their own failings entirely.
They do this, ignoring the blatant and proveable errors in the bible. They do this, knowing that Jesus said "judge not, lest ye be judged, for the measure you use, shall be measured unto you". They do this, thinking they are doing Gods will, but in reality, they are doing what they've decided is Gods will, based upon an intellectual understanding of the bible. They will say "Jesus died for the sins of the world" out of one of their faces, and then judge the world out of their other face.
And there is no way to get through to most of them. They will dodge whatever valid evidence you bring up, or accuse you of judging them for pointing out the painfully obvious. Or my personal favorite, accuse you of intellectualism. I love that one. See, you can reason with them, as long as your conclusions match theirs. As soon as your conclusions do not match theirs, all reason ceases, and you are now engaging in intellectualism.
Being religious is good, joining a religion is bad.
