Does anyone have any information comparing Morris Venden's statements compared to EGW's regarding righteousness by faith. I once saw such a comparison. The folks in my church revere Morris Venden and I think that he is dangerous, but I can't make my case. I do not wish to waste my time reading his books. Can anyone help me?

Hi vghopet,
My recollection of the gospel according to Morris Venden is that he teaches salvation through prayer and Bible study. In this instance, I agree that Morris Venden is dangerous. Venden's message is weak on presenting the clear gospel from Scripture. I searched the internet and could not find the Morris Venden / Ellen White gospel comparison you spoke of.
If you want to shake up your church, I strongly urge you to get and read the book The Gospel According to Jesus by John F. MacArthur. I implore you to share that book with Adventists who don't know the gospel. MacArthur is not a Seventh-day Adventist but his book is the clearest and best exposition on the true Adventist gospel that you can find.
