The Bible describes the Antichrist as a persecuting power, killing the innocent children of God. In the Middle Ages, the Catholic church fulfilled this role through its infamous Inquisition. More recently Communist Russia and China persecuted and killed millions of innocent human beings. Likewise, Hitler annihilated six million innocent Jews? The question is, who plays this role today? Who is persecuting and murdering the innocent children of God?

Aren't Christians being persecuted, maimed, and slaughtered today in many Moslem countries? Aren't we Americans murdering a million and a half unborn children every year? Isn't this the nature of the Beast of Revelation? What do predatory beasts do? Don't they target the weak and unprotected? Why is it so difficult for us to discern what is crystal clear? We have wrecked our brains trying to decipher the number of the Beast of Revelation, forgetting that we can recognize it by what it does, by its nature and character.

The spirit of Antichrist was originally manifested by Cain, the first murderer in history. Since then, this role was played by different individuals and entities. Pharaoh decreed the murder of all Jewish boys. God miraculously intervened to save baby Moses from a sure death. Wicked Haman planned the destruction of the Jews, and God intervened again to protect them from extinction. Herod decreed the merciless slaughgter of the children in Bethlehem, but God intervened to protect the life of baby Jesus.

If you want to identify an Adventist Antichrist, you need to look at our attitude towards those who are persecuting and murdering the innocent children of God today. Are we speaking out against the slaughter of Christians in Africa? Are we in the forefront defending those being murdered before they have a chance to take their first breath?

The Pope is fearlessly wielding its influence in defense of the unborn, while we are arguing that we do not know when human life begins! Who is partaking of the spirit of the Antichrist today? In Germany, we sided with Hitler while the Jews were being exterminated, and now we remain silent in our press while the unborn are being butchered and poisoned. May the Lord have mercy on us.

I am aware that in your article on the anti-christ you are speaking very generally, but please be aware that it was not Hitler who murdered the Jews, but the man who declared, "I have on my conscience the death of five millions Jews." That man was Adolph Eichmann, not Adolph Hitler.
The roles of the two men were vastly different.
Consider Hitler's reaction when informed that one his spy rings had just staged a coup in Russia just prior to the German attack on that sad Country. They had taken it upon themselves to disable the Russian people's ability to defend themselves by a Radio Ruse purporting to be messages from the enemy to the high ranking Officers making it seem to Stalin that his Army Officers were about to revolt, and causing him to order them to be shot forthwith.
When Hitler learned of this, he was alight with fury and told them that if they ever tried anything like that again he would have them shot first.
What is little understood is that, war is not fought to kill people, but to establish a tactical advantage. Unfortunately it tends to get out of hand and people do begin to murder each other.
There is also great misunderstanding concerning the nation known as Greater Germany.
The people behind the murders of the Jews, Gypsies and others were the agents of the Vatican. It was those people who were controlling Germany throughout the war.
This, was well understood by the high command in England. There were very serious plans put forth to bomb and smash Vatican City during that war. The only Leader in that war who did not understand was Stalin who, when advised of who his real enemy was, had the stupidity to ask, "How many divisions has the Pope?" Well, it wasn't America that took down the Soviet Union as the bishop of Rome stated.
The significance of the anti-christ is simply that he is someone who "stands in the place of Christ." That is the meaning of the word.
I was shocked to see in a Sabbath-School Pamphlet some months back that, suddenly the S.D.A. Church does not know who the anti-christ is???
I found that astonishing since some years back a man sought to convert me to Romanism and I eventually handed him a ticket with the names of blasphemy in all their glory and asked him if he could explain it to me. He went grey, but said, I'll have an answer for you tomorrow, and true to his word he did. He had a couple of Jesuit priests call and they looked at it and said, to his horror, "All we can tell you is that it is right." I would have thought that, if it was good enough for the Catholics to know that, it would be good enough for the S.D.A.s, but evidently not any more. But then, "All the world wondered after the beast." Why, after all, would the S.D.A. Church give the bishop of Rome a golden medal? "Why, would the S.D.A. Church be persecuting its own members?" Bankrupting them, casting them into jail, and driving them into an early grave? Nic, take heed unto yourself and God bless, we live in perilous times.

What are these "names of blasphemy"? I understand the reference to Revelation 13 but what are they specifically?

Jesus is the high priest. To challenge Him is blasphemy.

The numbers for romith are almost all wrong.

R is 100, O is 70, M is 40, I is indeed 10, TH is 9
(200 is sigma, 400 is upsilon, 40 is M, 6 is stigma/digamma)

These are the values that correspond to the greek alphabet letters, a system which was used for a long time by merchants, before the modern system was adopted. It is also the language in which revelation was written.

Worse, the use of wrong numbers by one christian to speak badly of another - using the bible - is despicable.
