The Thief Steals, Kills And Destroys

"The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. 1 Peter 5:8

There are many Christians who accept negative things in their lives as the will of God not appreciating the fact that it was the Devil, not God, who stole things from them including their health or wealth. Now in ignorance or through sin they had given room to the devil to do his thing but it doesn’t change the fact that it’s the devil who did these things and Jesus Christ came to destroy and to reverse the works of the devil. Hence the bible records for our profit and instruction:

When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick. Matthew 8:16

"The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD." Luke 4:18-19

Yes, Jesus Christ came to set men free and to heal them of all that the devil had done to them. He came to restore to them everything that they had lost in the garden of Eden including supernatural health, wealth, abundance and life. But most Christians don’t discern the works of the devil in their hearts and lives even though Jesus told them clearly what he does:

"The sower sows the word. "And these are the ones by the wayside where the word is sown. When they hear, Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts.

"These likewise are the ones sown on stony ground who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with gladness; "and they have no root in themselves, and so endure only for a time. Afterward, when tribulation or persecution arises for the word's sake, immediately they stumble.

Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, "and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
"But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred." Mark 4:14-20

Yes, the sower sows the word and Satan comes immediately and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. Yes, there are those who stumble when tribulation or persecution arises for the word's sake. Yes, the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful. And yes there are those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some a hundred.

It’s that simple! The way men respond to the word of God that is sown in their hearts and to their adversary who steals the word sown is what determines if they are successful and prosperous or poor and defeated. As a matter of fact God has very little to do with it all because men by their own choices and actions determine their own fate and even circumstance! God’s hands are tied as he has given to men the gift of faith, His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and His wonderful Holy Spirit and it’s up to them to receive and act responsibly with what He has given them.
