Seventh-day Adventists have a large system of theology which they often draw upon when they start threads on subtle or fine points of SDA theology. It’s too much of a distraction to have to defend a fundamental Adventist presupposition in a thread devoted to a purpose other than Adventism 101.

If persons not of the Seventh-day Adventist faith are so inclined, they should consider challenging the fundamental presuppositions of Seventh-day Adventists in the Seventh-day Adventist Believe section, instead of interrupting threads devoted to the cutting edge of Adventist thought. Or they may start their own thread in this section if they wish.

This is a request for common Christian courtesy. There is a need for Adventists to be alerted to deeper issues. Please don’t distract or detour them from wrestling with more challenging questions. Practice the golden rule.

Every distraction and interruption to a thread weakens the interest that otherwise might have been generated in a forthright and direct investigation of the proposed topic.

Well its seems you want to post your thoughts and go unchallenged or un-questioned over these critical spiritual issues. I am sorry but if I see a counterfeit doctrine creeping in I must speak my mind and as I understand it this forum gives me and others the liberty to do so, otherwise you should ban all non adventists and be exclusive.

Please consider this verse:

2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine

It says in season or out. In other words when its wanted or not, speak the truth. If you are concerned about getting your dogma de-railed then perhaps you should consider how it is presented.

In all things be kind and respectful and may God Bless you richly in the name of Jesus

raulf7,

I am only requesting that everyone practice common Christian courtesy. You seem to be arguing for the right to disrupt threads devoted to specific discussion topics. How far do you wish to take this? Based on your understanding of 2 Timothy 4:2, do you think it is morally justifiable for a non-Adventist to go to a Seventh-day Adventist church, presume that he must be recognized as an authority sight unseen and then interrupt an advanced Sabbath School class with unrelenting attacks on every fundamental Adventist doctrine? Do you really believe that you have this liberty in Jesus Christ?

Creeping in where? Into your church?

raulf7,

I want every one of my thoughts to be challenged and questioned. I don’t want to be bothered with annoyances from those who show no understanding of cutting edge revelation or the Spirit of Prophecy. If you wish to reprove, rebuke, exhort, that is fine with me. Isolate my fundamental presuppositions and state your objections on a separate thread. I’m sure that any number of the new converts to the Adventist faith could easily defend what I say.

I agree Eugene,

It is common courtesy to keep to the topic and to the point. It causes confusion to have disruptions, attacks, arguments and etc. that are spontaneous and uncalled for. “ ‘He that is not with Me is against Me,’ Christ declares, ‘and he that gathereth not with Me scattereth abroad.’ God has given to every man his work. He expects every follower of His to exert an influence that will tell for the upbuilding of His kingdom. He who is not actively engaged in promoting love and unity and equity is exerting an influence that is opposed to Christ.” SpTB02, 44.
