A Ministry Project of Come To Christ

Postby CTC » Wed May 08, 2002 9:23 pm

Hi Chantale,

Welcome!

This forum doesn’t represent any one denomination but is sponsored by Come To Christ, an evangelistic ministry based in Richardson, Texas. Click here to read the personal testimony of the founder. Here is our mission statement.

The handle Come To Christ represents all three directors of the ministry. Eugene Shubert is the leading evangelist and moderator of the forum. It’s his special ministry. Eugene’s theological perspective most closely resembles that of the Seventh-day Adventists. What denomination are you affiliated with, if any?

Here’s a list of threads where Eugene has stated beliefs that differ with most Seventh Day Adventists.

The gospel is immobilized
The three cycles of judgment in the book of Revelation
The Pantheism of A. Graham Maxwell
Trinity or non-Trinity?

I am more Trinitarian than Eugene and usually don’t approve of Eugene’s strong language on Seventh-day Adventist popery but we are very close doctrinally on most Biblical topics.

Hi Chantale and All,
I just joined this board today. I was born in '42, raised Lutheran and attended Lutheran primary school; was baptized by Jehovah's Witnesses in'66 and have been officially 'inactive' since '89. I am looking forward to examining the Trinity threads, as even as a Lutheran I did not hold the Trinity doctrine, immortality of the 'soul', heaven, hell: have been a 'maverick' since way back but always willing to view and weigh other perspectives in the light of the Bible?
How about the rest of you 'introducing' yourselves?

Hi talley,

I’m one of the administrators of this forum; I have a thread called Who Am I? I’m interested in the end-time gospel and conditional prophecy. You’ll find my unique doctrines in the Midheaven forums.

I suspect that most of the persons around here are Seventh-day Adventists. Don’t be alarmed. You’ll fit right in. No SDA believes in the immortality of the soul, eternal conscience torment and, historically, the SDA church was anti-Trinitarian. There are a few around here who believe that the SDA church should return to its 19th century doctrinal position so there’s a lot of debate on the Trinity.

Hi Buzzard,
It appears that we have a lot in common judging from the above post.
#s 1,2 & 4. #s 3 & 5 are of interest to me, but have not been the focus of my detailed attention as I have tended to observe other's thoughts on the 'end times' for now.
The thread you led me to is very fastinating, especially in light of 9/11.
Was it by any chance authored by C T Russell?
Now there are two of your posts from here that will reside in my Documents Files for enjoying at my leasure.
By the way, where in this world is Quesina? It is not in my 1982, $120.00, 12lb. atlas.
Thanks for the encouragement, Buzzard.
Chaste Hugs!

Hello all,

Allow me to introduce myself: my name is Steve, I am a Seventh-day Adventist convert from Catholicism in 1979; I'm 45 YOA, happily married, and live in New England.

I am a seeker of truth, therefore I always seek Christ. He is my Lord and my God. I try to maintain, always, an open, humble and honest heart and mind. God requires it of us all!

In my future postings, please remember that I am truly seeking Biblical truth, as much as I can as a human being.

I have 'taken the plunge' into teaching Bible studies in my home, and have begun--gulp--teaching on the books of Daniel and the Revelation. I am not using formal 'study guides,' and am structuring and researching each study myself; all-the-while praying earnestly for the Spirit of the living God to fill me as I go. I found this site through a Google search, looking for information that makes some sense out of Daniel Chapter 11.

I await an adventure!

Lastly, I am not a formally-trained theologian! I am, however, not afraid to delve deeply into a subject.

Greetings and blessings to all! Eugene and all involved, thank you for your labors!!!

Hello brothers and sisters in Christ!

Postby sharewealth01 » Sat Sep 25, 2004 6:51 am

I am from Melbourne, Australia. I am born SDA. However have some insights into the word of God - which might surprise some mainline SDAs!

I am 68 years of age. I used to be a biochemist later turned financial planner and investment adviser and more recently an Internet entrepreneur.

In '92 my wife underwent a severe stroke. I was faced with a choice - to put her into care and pursue my lucrative career or care for her at home. I chose to be her carer.

During this period, I got stuck into the bible and even studied for my Masters in biblical studies and theology with a view to become a part-time independent lay evangelist. I write an "End Time Messages" newsletter with a circulation of 200 plus. I attend mainly Delphi discussion forums and post over there rather profusely, preach a little (when invited) and at times volunteer as a chaplain at out Coronella Home for the Aged/Hospice.

You will find me posting now and then some challenging messages, sometime rather thought provoking and perhaps even a bit controversial from some of the orthodox SDA beliefs and teachings.

But rest assured whatever I say or do - I do all to the glory and uplifting of our creator and Saviour God!

I look forward to a long and enjoyable sojourn on this apparently godly forum constructed with highly praiseworthy and noble motivation.

In Christian Love and Brotherhood.

New here and trying this out.

Hello everyone,

I am Liz, a homeschoolin' SAHM of two kidlets. I had no idea a board like this existed until today. This is an answer to prayer, I do belong to a few other boards, but it sure is nice to be around "like minded" Christians, kwim? We are a Seventh-day Adventist family--my parents are SDA so I was "raised" one, but my dh accepted the truth after we married and now he is an adult S.S. teacher in our church.

I am so excited to get to know everyone and these forums. I do have a question, but I haven't figured out the boards enough to know where exactly to post it.

Blessings and Happy New Year to everyone!!

Hi Liz,

A warm welcome to you and yours. I see that you're writing from Texas also. Which part? You can feel safe posting anywhere because your thread can easily be moved to a more fitting location if you start in the wrong place.

I know what you mean about the arrangement of all the forums. The organization of this board is mysterious until it's explained. The board is laid-out in terms of what is most appropriate for each virtual location. The world forum is for down-to-earth topics. Angels proclaim the gospel from the Midheaven forums. Dignitaries promote their issues in the High Mountain forums. The Battle of Armageddon forum is for spiritual war. Heaven is for order, hell disorder. That's the general outline.

What kind of question do you have? Take a guess and post away.
