How Should Seventh-day Adventists View Israel?

The revelation of the mystery, which has been kept secret for long ages past, is of infinite importance.

How Should Seventh-day Adventists View Israel?

Postby Eugene Shubert » Thu Jun 24, 2010 1:58 am

The hierarchy of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has a lamentable history of sacrificing integrity and truth on the altar of political expediency and cowardice.

http://www.history.ucsb.edu/projects/holocaust/Research/Proseminar/corrieschroder.htm
http://www.everythingimportant.org/ADRA

The latest act of Adventist cowardice is seen in an article of the Adventist Review that promotes pro-Zionist propaganda and grossly misrepresents the truth about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict: http://www.adventistreview.org/article.php?id=1456

Do Seventh-day Adventists realize that their Church is defending massive atrocities in God's name?

A very polite-sounding lie in an Adventist devotional states, "Israelis and Palestinians die in strife because of different visions of the Holy Land." http://www.adventist.org/world_church/official_meetings/1995gcsession/063007ann.txt

Don't believe what the Seventh-day Adventist leadership is telling you. Study the issue for yourself to prove that you are approved of God. Here is a link to a collection of numerous truthful sources and documentaries on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict: http://www.everythingimportant.org/Zionism/

An Adventist Zionist wrote:The SDA Church isn't defending atrocities---Read it correctly---Shubert.

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is disseminating Zionist propaganda, which is a cloak for horrific atrocities.

"If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor." - Archbishop Desmond Tutu. How much greater will God's judgment be for Church leaders that choose to perpetuate the propaganda of a murderous regime. - Shubert

There are three devilish misrepresentations of fact in the Adventist Review article:

“The government accepts us as one of the Christian communities in the country,” said Richard Elofer, president of the Adventist Church there and pastor of the Jerusalem congregation. “I know that they know us, we don’t hesitate to communicate with them, and every year I am invited by the president of the state to attend a reception for the [leaders] of the Christian communities.”

Israeli media—not often a friend of Christian churches operating and evangelizing in the country—had very positive things to say about the Seventh-day Adventist Church when its publishing house, “Chaim Veshalom,” or, “Life and Peace,” opened in Jerusalem in 2003. The nation’s oldest newspaper, Haaretz, published a highly favorable report.

The article stressed the industry, honesty, temperate lifestyle, and Sabbathkeeping of Adventist believers, with one Israeli employer, identified only as “Eli,” saying, “They’re very neat and well-groomed. They don’t smoke, they don’t drink. They are excellent, diligent workers and completely honest. I trust them with my eyes closed. I bring them to a work site and don’t have to come back to check on them. Their word is golden.”

Elofer's boasting of the righteousness of the Seventh-day Adventists in Israel is absolutely disgraceful in light of all the suffering going on in the neighboring Occupied Territories. Christ's standard of judgment is determined by how we respond to Christ's mistreated brothers — the very special ones that are hungry, neglected, sick and falsely imprisoned (Matthew 25:31-46).

Thankfully, there are genuine Christians in Israel that express their love for those who are being oppressed and not themselves. They are representing the love of God accurately. See The Jerusalem Declaration on Christian Zionism.

Elofer asks believers to keep an open mind about today’s Israel: “We would like our Adventist brethren to cease to see Israel as the ‘black sheep’ of the Middle East,” he told the Review.

“Maybe it is not the case in the United States, but recently a survey has been done in all the European countries, asking the question ‘Who is the biggest threat for the peace of the world?’ The majority of the people answered ‘Israel,’ not Iran, not terrorism, not [Osama] bin Laden, but Israel. This answer demonstrates a very high level of anti-Semitism, because rationally Israel is threatening no one, just defending [itself] against dozens of Muslim countries around who would like to see only one thing, its destruction,” Elofer said.

This propaganda of the Zionists is forcefully refuted by the faithful testimonies at http://everythingimportant.org/Zionism/

“Among Christians, probably the religious community who has a closer theological connection with Jewish biblical thinking [than any other] is the Adventist Church, and we should always be willing to extend the arm of fellowship to our Jewish friends,” Rodríguez said. But, he added, “political concerns should not be part of that agenda, so that motivation comes to play a significant role in this.”

This is like saying that a friendship between the Seventh-day Adventist Church and Adolph Hitler could have been based on Hitler's vegetarianism and on his profession to be a Christian and that Nazi politics, brutal policies and the Nazi war, should have been dismissed as an irrelevant political concern.

As it was demonstrated repeatedly at http://everythingimportant.org/Zionism, many God-fearing Orthodox Jews insist that Judaism has nothing to do with Zionism.

Hi Shubert,

I believe that the situation in Palestine is a melting pot, an endless loop, an ever-vicious circle where one's position be it voiced as loudly as possible can but only worsen the situation. It is a blinds leading the blinds situation. I do hope that Seventh-day Adventists through we do voiced our position on war, vioence, abuse and their by-products wherever and whenever they occur, we do no allegience or side taking.

A human is a human be it Israeli or Palestinian Muslim. Whenever needs do arise, our conscience matter should be obeyed. Sin and Salvation know no boundary on earth. There are numerous theological premises (The Eastern Question for example) and preconceived opinons as well as political moves that can lead one in favor of one or the other party. One thing is sure: all those people need Christ in their life and we need to do everything in our power be it prayer or other more physical and nearer endeavors to alleviate the sufferings and fight the darkness that has taken deep hold of the many precious souls living in that most glorious zone, known to all of us as the Biblical land.

God Bless U,

Nicolas.

#1. I forwarded your post to the Yahoo Adventist-fm group, and Ron Beaulieu said "A good post by Eugene Shubert."!!!!

#2. HOWEVER, did you know that the SDA General Conference and the Adventist News Network deleted their link????

Is the Seventh-day Adventist Church Ashamed of its pro-Zionist Propaganda?

Thank you Susan.

1. For Ron Beaulieu to say something nice about my post is really commendable because I have written strong words against his claim to be a prophet.

2. I'm surprised, yet pleased to learn from you, that the Seventh-day Adventist Church is watching me. They seem to have discovered that I'm a powerful instrumentality for the truth they hate and now must realize that for the sake of the gospel I am more than willing to expose their willful apathy and shameless apostasy. Either that or it's an extraordinary coincidence that within just 4 days of this thread exposing the Adventist Church's dissemination of propaganda for a murderous regime, that they took down a web page that contained such propaganda.

One embarrassing Church link that I used as a source (now dead) is
http://www.adventist.org/world_church/official_meetings/1995gcsession/063007ann.txt
Fortunately, Google's cache of that page is still available and I copied it here: http://everythingimportant.org/Zionism/devotional.htm

3. I appreciate your investigation of this subject and your careful study and search for additional links.

The Transfer Agreement

Conclusion: The major players in recreating the state of Israel are found on an impressive list of evil, which includes Adolph Hitler.

It's so nice of the Seventh-day Adventist leadership to kowtow to their spiritual masters.

Jesus warned His followers, "Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand." (Matthew 24:23-25 NKJV).

If great signs and wonders can accompany a counterfeit appearing of Christ, then why can't the devil work to counterfeit a revived state of Israel?

What's so spiritual about an impressive list of evil, which includes Adolph Hitler and the United Nations, uniting together under the Zionist belief that the Jewish exile imposed by God can be ended by military aggression?

Clearly, those who blindly bless a murderous, anti-Torah regime are dupes of Satan and are greatly cursed.

Peace, Propaganda, and The Promised Land

Postby CTC » Fri Dec 24, 2010 2:26 pm

Peace, Propaganda & the Promised Land provides a striking comparison of U.S. and international media coverage of the crisis in the Middle East, zeroing in on how structural distortions in U.S. coverage have reinforced false perceptions of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. This pivotal documentary exposes how the foreign policy interests of American political elites--oil, and a need to have a secure military base in the region, among others--work in combination with Israeli public relations strategies to exercise a powerful influence over how news from the region is reported.

Seventh-day Adventists are not peacemakers

Postby Eugene Shubert » Sun Feb 12, 2012 3:31 pm

Jesus said, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall inherit the earth." So why is the Seventh-day Adventist church disseminating the propaganda of warmongers, murderers and thieves in the pages of the Adventist Review? It appears to me that the Adventists that chat on internet forums are so morally or intellectually corrupt or brain-damaged that they can't understand the seriousness of the hypocrisy that is going on within church leadership.

The Seventh-day Adventists concern for ritual purity

Postby Eugene Shubert » Thu Nov 15, 2012 3:10 pm

I received a very moving email this morning, which reminds me of how much Seventh-day Adventists care about ritual purity.

On November 14, 2012, the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) unleashed another massacre in Gaza. In just one day, 15 Palestinians were killed, most of them women and children. Dozens were injured, homes destroyed and the hospitals in Gaza are overwhelmed with the wounded. Israel and its apologists say this is a war, but the people of Gaza have no military, no planes or tanks or helicopters or drones. They are largely a civilian population trapped in the largest outdoor prison in the world. They cannot run or hide or escape. They are, in fact, sitting targets for Israeli war games. Yesterday, we heard from one of the internationals, Adie Mormesh in Gaza. His message is below:

“Here in Gaza, more than 10 people have been killed so far in the Israeli operation named “Pillar of Defense” within the last 7 hours, including countless children such as 7-year-old child Ranan Arafat and an 11 month old baby. We’ve seen charred bodies of dead and injured children pouring in to Al Shifa hospital of Gaza City and the other depleted hospitals around the Gaza Strip. There have been 50 airstrikes all over the Gaza Strip so far. Deafening explosions shook us all, as bombs landed close to us in the streets near the Universities. Huge explosions are landing all around us in Gaza City as I write, some entire families have been injured. We can also hear the shelling of Israeli Gunships. (The Israeli war machine will announce)… a possible Israeli land invasion very soon”… a fear fueled by Israeli leaders dropping leaflets in North Gaza warning of an imminent overland invasion.

Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi has called the Israeli actions “wanton aggression on the Gaza Strip” and Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr has, “warned Israel against the consequences of escalation and the negative reflections it may have on the security and stability of the region.” The new Egyptian government is led by the Freedom and Justice Party, which issued a statement saying: “The wanton aggression against Gaza proves that Israel has yet to realize that Egypt has changed and that the Egyptian people who revolted against oppression will not accept assaulting Gaza.”

However, the One Democratic State Group in a statement, also signed by the University Teachers Union and the Palestinian Students’ Campaign for the Academic Boycott of Israel is skeptical. It reiterated its “condemnation of the international conspiracy of silence and Arab impotence in the face of these continuous Israeli crimes... We note that not a single action against Israel has been taken by any Arab country. Will the Arab Spring stand aside and watch while we are being butchered? Empty rhetoric will no longer be accepted. Words of condemnation have to be translated into action.”

Hospitals throughout the Strip have been inundated with victims of the attacks. Speaking in a press conference outside al-Shifa hospital, Dr. Mafed el-Makha el-Makhalalaty, the Minister for Health, explained that hospitals are suffering shortages due to the ongoing closure of the Gaza Strip and the increased attacks over the last week. Today’s attacks have left hospitals depleted of medicines and medical supplies.

We are calling on your support for the besieged people of the Gaza Strip. You can make a difference. Act now to stop another Gaza bloodbath. Since Israel has the tacit approval of the U.S. government as well as weapons of mass destruction, please call the following numbers, even if you are not an American: Please be polite, but firm.

Journalists in Gaza targeted as militants

Postby Dzien Dobry » Mon Nov 26, 2012 1:25 am

Abby Martin of Russia Today’s Brainwash Update pointed out that Israel’s targeting of Gaza media centers, which killed journalists and endangered employees of many news organizations, was a war crime. (She was hardly alone in this). She was the victim of a smear attempt by the Israel lobby, which accused her of support for terrorism (because she dared call illegal Israeli actions illegal). If more journalists stood up to such smear campaigns with her feistiness, the world would be a better place. Watch her let her detractors have it:
