I subscribed to this forum a loooong time ago & just recently got an Email about a new topic that I find very interesting. I'd LOVE to read it but just about unable to because of font size. There's no way to make it bigger is there? With my 17" screen, I still have to move forward to about 2' away from my monitor to read anything! And if the page has blue background with blue font, forget it.
Is there anyway to choose my settings for the forums to be bigger in font? And can I "subscribe" to a certain topic to watch for other responses to it?
I see where I can choose HUGE for my posting but the problem is, the default setting for everyone is way too small for me to read it. _________________ ~*~ Happiness is life itself ~*~
One can only fail if they have never tried.
If you use Internet Explorer and go to View/Text Size, that will change the magnification of text size for most internet pages. If you tried that, you found that Internet Explorer fails to make any size changes for forums like this one.
The only recommendation I have is for you to switch to a smarter, safer, faster and all-around better browser. Gurus I respect rave about Firefox. It will change the magnification of this forum to whatever size you like. Firefox is a free download. http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/
With the Firefox browser, select View-->Text Size-->Increase (do that a few times) and the text gets really really big.
To subscribe to a topic, this one for instance, go to the bottom of this page and click on the link that says "Watch this topic for replies." It's just below the Page 1 of 1. After you click that link, it will then say, "Stop watching this topic" for whenever you change your mind.
There are a few posts around here that use dark blue text against the default very light blue background. I don't know why your computer/monitor isn't creating a sharp contrast for you. If you have trouble reading those colorful messages with large characters in the Firefox browser, let me know and I'll turn those characters black.

I downloaded that browser you suggested & will be giiving it a try. My monitor does make a sharp distinction between letters & the color but with my bad eyesight, it's hard to see tones/shades/hues of the same colors together such as the blue against blue.. Too many forums choose that but I suppose they look nice for those with better eyesight.. Thank you for your help & I hope to be able to read these forums better now, with the new browser! God bless. _________________ ~*~ Happiness is life itself ~*~
