I teach that Jesus, the Lord of life and glory, was crucified to please the malice of the Jews because the principles He presented did not coincide with their own ideas and ambitious aims. He condemned all guile, all underhanded work of policy for supremacy, and every unholy practice.
I assert that this message is from God:
‘For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Seventh-day Adventist leadership, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.’ Matthew 5:20.
That’s very true. Atonement and love for sinners was first and foremost. But what do you think were the primary human passions, reasons and secret objections in the hearts of the religious leaders that led to Jesus’ crucifixion?
Do you believe that Christian leaders today are less offended than first century Pharisees and Sadducees were to a Jesus style of complete ministry?

Wellllll GEEEEE Eugene, it can't be THAT easy, can it????
*ROFL*
If that's the case, expect to see a parade of hookers, drug addicts and Satan worshippers through the pearly gates, cuz heck, at least they are honest about who they are and what they are about.

I definitely think you are onto something with what you are saying here. This is historical context and it is VERY important for understanding the deeper substance of these dynamics. "He came unto His own and His own received Him not ... but to as many as DID receive Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God ..."
You see, we cannot possibly understand the meaning and purpose of DIVINE INCARNATION -- the experience of Divinity tasting humanity and human plight and human folly and human life -- unless we comprehend how Incarnation is The "mythos" itself (of the Divine) compacted into a single human lifetime.
Why is the dynamic of this historical rejection of Christ and its place in factoring into the crucifixion so important? One reason may be because this had been the All-Father's experience with these people throughout their entire history, off and on, again and again (constantly sending prophets who ended up slaughtered, etc.) ("Oh, now look, here comes the son and heir ... let's kill Him and the Estate shall be ours!!" ) -- this is a key indicator that this Person is indeed the True Incarnation of That God, the One around whom their entire mythos and ritual centered ...
Sorry, having a hard time finding language for what I see.
