Rod Parsley is claiming God wants to mark you, please read carefully his comments:
Quote:
Well In this year of jubilee god wants to paint or mark you with his anointing a supernatural fragrance which attracts his blessing and faithfulness, in Lk.4:18 the spirit of the Lord is upon me because he has anointed me, anointed here means that God literally painted or marked his son with a fragrance which attracted the blessing of the father.
I am sure these words accidentally slipped out of Rod Parsley's mouth, because according to the official position of the Pentecostal Church, the mark of the beast is a scanner type bar code or a computer chip. As you just read Rod Parsley declared that his anointing is a mark, if you let him touch your forehead with his right hand you will be marked! This is great, he actually said with his own mouth if you receive his anointing, you will be painted with a mark! Keeping this in mind, we can understand that all the Pentecostal and Charismatic multitudes who received Rod Parsley's anointing are undoubtedly marked. This time I do agree with this anointed Minister, he is absolutely right: even though we are unable to see this mark with our physical eyes, yet all these believers anointed by him or by his partners of wonder, are marked with a spiritual paint. To describe his anointing Rod Parsley pronounced the words, "supernatural fragrance". Notice he did not mention the word "divine" or "holy" but he said "supernatural". You know the meaning of the word supernatural, right? I want to make sure that you understand that it means: paranormal, mystic, weird, bizarre, eerie, magic. You can search the whole Bible, not even once these expressions were ever used in relation to the Holy Spirit of God. Clearly this spiritual mark that Rod Parsley is wishing to paint your forehead with, is not the "Anointing" of God. Yes you are definitely right in discerning that Rod Parsley's anointing is related to this verse of Revelation:
Rev:19:20: And the beast was taken, and with him the FALSE PROPHET that wrought MIRACLES before him, with which HE DECEIVED them that had received THE MARK OF THE BEAST, and them that WORSHIPPED his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Ah, the "Year of Jubilee." I’ve read about that. How long must I wait for a repeat performance?

One of Parsley’s main themes during 1998 has been the idea of "celebration within the context of a church service." He calls this the "Year of Jubilee" and somehow ties the idea to a supernatural harvest. During these services he and the congregation put on their party hats and pull out their party whistles and hoop and holler just like they were at a carnival. The House of God becomes just as vile as a pagan temple celebrating the rites of fertility. Jesus spoke to the Jewish leaders of His day and soundly rebuked them for making the House of God a den of thieves. He would do the same today to these defilers of the House of God. I can envision Him saying, "You have made the House of God a playhouse of entertainment and folly." It is blasphemous.

HOGWASH!
There is no official position of the Pentecostal church because there is no Pentecostal church to state an official position. There are some Pentecostal denominations such as the Assembly of God, Church of God, Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, etc! But even these denominations when it comes to official position on anything do not make any kind of official statement. They are usually a very loose federation made up of independent churches with independent pastors who are so different from each other and don't see eye to eye on many things. Each pentecostal church has major differences with other church even in the same 'denomination.'
Unlike the Southern Baptists pastors who are forced to sign a statement of faith and doctrines and to believe the same thing, Pentecostal pastors sign nothing and have very little cohesiveness even on speaking in tongues. The Church of God in Tennessee has over four million members and only about 25 % of its members believe in speaking in tongues.
For the record Rod Parsley just like Benny Hinn is an independent preacher with an independent church that is not tied to any denomination. Benny Hinn belonged to the Assembly of God for a year until they threw him out for being friends with Catholics! And Benny Hinn is a nut who thinks whatever he says is fromGod and none of his many stupid prophecies have ever come true and never will!
