We know from the book The Great Controversy, that the fifth and the sixth trumpets were fulfilled before 1844. Therefore the first four trumpets had to be fulfilled before then. I believe that the first four trumpets were judgments that fell upon Pagan Rome at the hand of the barbarian tribes for her rejection of the gospel and for the way she treated the followers of Christ.

The fifth and sixth trumpets were judgments that fell upon Papal Rome at the hand of the Arabs between 1299 and 1840. The fifth trumpet lasted 150 years between 1299 and 1449 and the sixth lasted 391 years and 15 days and ended on the 11th of August 1840 as we are told in The Great Controversy. If you add 391 years and 15 days to 1449 it reaches to the exact time it was expected it would end! See G.C. p.334,335.

150 years is five prophetic months
391 years + 15 days is one prophetic year + one prophetic month + one prophetic day and + one prophetic hour.

Hey AB, how goes it? Interesting topic. I never realized that in GC six trumpets are brought to view. I was under the impression that the 7 trumpets were 7 warnings related to the final 7 plagues. I need to study that much more. Anyway, can you elaborate? Thanks Brother!

Hi Mickey! good to see you here! There are seven trumpets and I believe the seventh trumpet will be the seven last plagues which will be the last judgments of God to fall upon Babylon the Great for her rejection of the loud cry message and for persecuting the people of God in these last days.

four first trumpets: judgments that brought about the fall of the Roman Empire.

fifth and sixth trumpets: judgments that dried up one third of the river Euphrates--multitudes who were supporting the papacy in the middle ages until the time of the end which began in 1798--between 1299 and 1840.

seventh trumpet: the seven last plagues; the judgments that will dry up the river Euphrates completely. Babylon the Great will fall when the "waters" of Rev.17 will be dried up. The multitudes from all nations who were supporting the papacy will, at the time of the sixth plague withdraw their support and turn against Babylon the Great; this will bring the drying up of the "river" and Babylon will fall to never rise again.
