I have noticed in allot of different Christian circles, little flashes popping up of people who think that they can 'nudge' the fulfillment of prophecy over the edge and MAKE Jesus come back. I found an article on the 'Left Behind' site, that quite interesting enough, is not authored by the site, but by a major magazine. Anyone want to discuss this?

Dear 3AngelsMom,
Welcome to the forum. I assume that you have 3 little angels at home. If you ever have a 4th, let me know and I’ll happily update your screen name. :)
I saw in that article more of an effort to make true the Dispensationalist’s view about Israel in prophecy and no specific interest in hastening the return of our Lord. The way to hasten our Lord’s return is to preach the gospel of the kingdom.
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).
Peter says “look forward to the day of God and speed its coming” (2 Peter 3:12).
I believe that the real issue raised by the article is the logic of giving money to unsanctified political causes to confirm one’s own misunderstanding of prophecy. That’s like believing that God will effect some good by working through evil. If that were true we should also give our money and support to the dragon, beast and false prophet. |

That is pretty much my point, that these misguided people think that they can actually bring about the second coming sooner than the Father has planned, through fulfilling misunderstood prophecies. Such as that Isreal needs to be rebuilt and restored to real Jews and that the Temple must be rebuilt (to facilitate to Anti-Christ defiling it) {haha}
I guess my real quandry is how to deal with these people, who have such a distorted view of prophecy that it is impossible (or so it seems) to teach them anything else. They are SO unteachable and right in their own minds that it seems hopeless.
How do you feel about these people, from a Biblical standpoint, viewing their fruit, what the ultimate outcome will be?
