Sheepish people (sheeple) are very tolerant of church leaders abusing members of the flock. The mass of humanity, like most Christians, seems very accepting of this. As victims continue to suffer the mental anguish of past abuse, the sheeple, instead of removing the abusers from church fellowship, turn against the victims as if defending the evil and the assumed legitimacy of the priesthood they idolize.
Be careful with your praise. God does not approve of the allegiance, loyalty and/or superstitious reverence exercised toward any ecclesiastical power if that power sanctions evil.
And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If any one worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or upon his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.” Revelation 14:9-11.

By silence we give consent to unjust actions. When we put our trust in a power sanctions evil, adore that power and praise that power, thinking that evil will reform itself if given enough time, we deceive ourselves.
What has the church done and what is the church responsibility to help restore the victims of church sanctioned abuse to faith and fellowship?
