A Reform-minded Seventh-day Adventist forum In our aim to exalt everything important, first and foremost, we seek to promote a clear understanding of Daniel, Revelation, the three angels' messages and the alpha and omega of apostasy.
I shouted that Jesus' coming was ABSOLUTELY IMMINENT, and was drawn away in vision (more about this later--absolutely stunning). These things are self-evident. My friend has interpreted the cylindrical object with the spinning numbers, which stopped at a specific date for Jesus’ coming--he is one of the people that we are studying prophecy with now (see my initial introductory post)! He said that it probably means, simply, that time has been continuing through history, and that there were times where Christ could have come, but that there is now a time set for the Second Coming.
Many believe the Second Coming is imminent an the time is set by God- HE FOREKNEW it.
How do many stories in the Old Testament tell us exactly when Jesus is coming back?

Many astronomers and other scientists using sophisticated computer programs have calculated that the earth will be 6000 years old sometime around the year 2000, give or take a few years.
This false statement is an even greater fallacy. There is no truth in this error at all.

Hi Kate,
Welcome to this forum. That website by Dr. Lorraine Day looks very nice but her theology is clearly wrong.
Lorraine Day wrote:
JESUS WILL RETURN WHEN THE EARTH IS 6000 YEARS OLD.
That clearly contradicts the testimony of Jesus.
Jesus said,
Quote:
But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. Matthew 24:36. NKJV.
Eugene you are correct in warning others of the bogus teaching of Dr. Day, with her sitting at the feet of Graham Maxwell for years if is only natural for her to start scattering the error he has taught to thousands. But for you to suggest that Jesus doesn't know when He is coming back is shallow reasoning, Jesus is ALL KNOWING! The correct rendering of this verse is this. "But of that day and hour no man maketh known, no not the angels neither man or the Son, but the Father." It is not mans job to make it known. It's not the Sons job to make it known, neither the angels. The Father is the One who will make it known on the 1290 day of Daniel 12 when He speaks from heaven at the start of the 7th trumpet/plague saying "IT IS DONE" Rev. 16:17 That is when the Father announces when the return of Jesus will be. According to the bible it will be 45 days after the Father delivers the 144,000 from the death decree & raising the dead while Jesus is still in heaven.

Hello
Do you believe that Lorraine Day knows exactly when the earth will turn 6000 years old?
Do you actually beleiev that this is time setting?
I don't know Lorraine Day's Theology, and I'm not supporting time setting but a statement like JESUS WILL RETURN WHEN THE EARTH IS 6000 YEARS OLD. hardly falls into time setting.
Do you know when the earth will be 6000 years old? _________________ God Bless you

Jeff,
There are three excellent criticisms of the theology of Dr. Lorraine Day so far on this thread.
Lorraine Day contradicts the testimony of Jesus.
She teaches an absurd, nonscientific fallacy.
She is a follower of the spiritualist pantheist, A. Graham Maxwell.
The issue was never said to be a human's determination of the 6000th year of planet earth. My complaint is Lorraine Day's certainty that no angel marked the creation week on a personal heavenly calendar and couldn't possibly figure out creation's 6000th year and also couldn't be as smart as Dr. Day when it comes to understanding the Bible.
Hello Eugene,
Thank you for the info about what she teaches. I appreciate what she has done for many to get rid of cancer. I never heard any of her doctrinal beliefs.
I never read any of Graham Maxwell's stuff. I read some of the heretical "God cares" books by Mervyn Maxwell. I was shocked as I came to the realization of how much time I waisted reading those books.
Many condem this as we talk about the goins on in the church. . . But we are given many examples of this means of warning. For instance Sister White told many people not to go to Battle Creek because the teaching of Kellogg would lead them astray. Closer to home Jesus told His disciples beware of the leaven of the pharisees. . . We are told by Jesus to be fruit inspectors, and I believe that we can do this in love. Was Jesus being lovong when He told the jews that they are of their father the devil? _________________ God Bless you
